The ST to Hungary will take place between May 31 and June 6 2008 and include the meetings with National Federation, National Fund for Institutional Protection of Savings and Cooperatives and credit cooperatives and other institutions working in microlending area. The list of participants.
At the World conference on microlending, conducted in 2007 in Sofia (May 31 – June1), Bulgaria, group of representatives of the RK (PM Chancellery, Entrepreneurship Department of MIT, SMEF and AMFOK) studied practices of regulation of micro lending organizations of the Eastern European countries. Experience of Hungary was found the most suitable to Kazakh delegation. In connection with that Mr. Lajosh Varadi, the senior adviser of National federation of credit associations of Hungary (OTSz), volunteered to present the Hungarian experience to the KZ delegation in the given area and expressed readiness to organize the trip to Hungary. In this regard, in January 2008, Entrepreneurship Department of MIT has communicated to USAID/KSBD the idea to organize and to fund the provisional study tour (ST) to Hungary to study experience in two aspects: a) attraction of savings from non-members (of cooperatives) and institutional investors; b) guarantees and risk management (institutional aspects).
