The Workshop deals with a technical but significant issue: Development and Maintenance of Statistical Business Registers. The idea is to improve international coordination, improve comparability of statistics and reduce existing gaps between western and eastern countries. For the time being the Workshop website (http://www.unece.org/stats/documents/2007.06.busreg.htm ) make available about 25 presentations and reports (five of them available in Russian) that represent the Business Reporters in Brasilia, OECD countries with a focus on best practice (Ireland, Italy) and Serbia, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russian and other countries, and emphasize issues related to “fake” registration, information quality, accessibility, user-friendliness, operability, etc. We cannot give more information on Kazakhstan presentation/report, this section of the webpage is not working.
