During the week of May 25th, a group of representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Prime-Minister's Chancellory of the Republic of Kazakhstan traveled to Sofia, in Bulgaria. The goal of their trip is to participate in the 10th World Conference on Microfinance, where they are learning from the experiences of Bulgaria and other countries in Eastern Europe in the field of microfinance. They are also meeting with representatives from the Government of Bulgaria in order to learn frameworks for regulation in the field of SMEs. Further meetings have been organized for representatives of the Kazakhstani Small and Medium Enterprises Fund (SMEF, http://www.frmp.kz) and Association of Micro Funding Organizations of Kazakhstan (AMFOK, www.amfok.kz). The trip has been organized by Kazakhstan Small Business Development Project (KSBD, www.ksbd.kz) and CEED of Bulgaria (www.ceed.bg) (Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development), which is part of a chain of enterprise development centers in Eastern Europe (www.seaf.com), forming a net of centers that develop entrepreneurship in Eastern Europe by empowering leadership teams through knowledge and networks.
